故事发生在民国时期，楚楚动人的医学院女毕业生尚华来到著名医学教授柯克恩所在的别墅应聘助手职务，谁知当她走进实验室时，却被眼前的一幕吓得失声大叫，惊慌失措。原来实验台上有一颗女性人头，而且人头仿佛具有生命一般。尚华接受了教授禁止讨论这里一切的要求，成为柯克恩团队的一名成员。那颗人头的主人名叫罗美娜，曾是一个红极一时的舞女，却最终被人残忍杀害。教授利用自己先进的医疗技术将其复活，并四下打听准备为罗美娜匹配一具合适的身体。
