今年的除夕特别篇副标题定为“我用餐没密集、孤独的烟火大作战！”（ 孤独のグルメ 2020大晦日スペシャル～俺の食事に密はない、孤独の花火大作戦！~），将描写五郎忙碌的年末（12月29日~31日）。在这三天里，五郎会为烟花大会的成功而奔走，并品尝东京・埼玉・神奈川的美食。。Paul (Greg Hovanessian) and Rob (Dempsey Bryk) come from different backgrounds.
