While struggling to...。「削瘦的灵魂」以多本七等生的作品为座标，解密这名台湾当代小说家的童年成长、挫折穷困、爱人子女和写就的时代意义。本片由朱贤哲执导，多次实地采访多年从不公开露面的七等生本人，突破拍摄困难与传主心防，并藉由访谈作家身边不同身份、面向的重要他人，让观众得以一窥其隐世多年的生活面貌。。该剧讲述了一名老军人无意间发现了战友的阵亡通知书，从而开始艰难寻找与自我救赎，牵扯出几个家庭在50年间的悲欢离合。。
