A young girl lives with her mother in an isolated mountain cabin. Mother dies, the girl also has a child. No father is present. A friendship is formed with another woman but things start to become twisted. Paranoia and delusions follow。老汉有三子皆不孝。出嫁女儿设计做了个红枕头来治不孝的哥哥们。三兄弟误以为枕中全是财宝，争相夺抢老汉，最后才发现枕头里全是砖头瓦片。。故事讲述了运河边长大的年轻人从花街到北京，在度过了他们青涩纯真的青春时光，也经历了积极而艰难的北上创业时期，当荣耀或失败都已成为过往之际，他们再次重归运河边的花街，寻找真实自我和人生意义的故事。 该剧改编自作家徐则臣的同名小说，原著曾荣获2019年第十届茅盾文学奖。。
